The doctors and staff of Swedesboro Animal Hospital have happily served the pets and people of our community for nearly a quarter-century. And what a long way we have come together!
In 1986, Swedesboro Animal Hospital opened its doors in the heart of the Swedesboro/Woolwich community… adopting a tiny, run-down building that formerly housed a television repair shop. At that time, the number of houses in Swedesboro/Woolwich numbered in the hundreds, and many were sprawling farms that gave the community its scenic beauty and character.
Together with his mother Catherine (who was his first technician!), and wife Carol (who kept the books!), Dr. Magazu got to work building his dream—transforming an old abandoned TV repair shop into Swedesboro’s very first hospital for animals. (Next time you see him, ask Dr. Magazu about his very first client… a really friendly man with a severely injured… television set!). For Dr. Magazu, who studied veterinary medicine in Europe and the United States, and who traveled the world as part of a United States military family, calling Swedesboro and Woolwich ‘home’ just felt right.
And it has been home ever since. Our doctors and staff have had the privilege of growing alongside our community—we have treated police and fire dogs, sponsored and coached t-ball, baseball and soccer teams, and contributed to many of the good causes that have kept our towns growing both in size… and in character. Swedesboro/Woolwich is our home, and we will always do our part.
We are proud to have received the highest ratings possible by the American Animal Hospital Association… and we continue to stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine in order to provide your pets with the highest possible care.
It has been a true pleasure to grow our hospital alongside the growth of the Swedesboro/Woolwich community. “Home” means something to us—you and your pets are part of our family. Dr. Magazu, our doctors and our staff truly look forward to serving our hometown community for years and years to come.
